POWERFUL ADAPTOGEN: Peruvian, gelatinized, certified organically-grown, sun-dried maca root (Lepidium meyenii). Sometimes unofficially referred to as “Peruvian ginseng,” maca grows in the harsh and extreme conditions of the Andes Mountains of central Peru. GELATINIZATION PROCESS: The maca gelatinization processes came about in the 1990s to make “raw” maca powder, a cruciferous root, easier to digest. Boiling and pressurization is used to greatly reduce the starch content thus creating a more concentrated maca than “raw” maca.
